I actually did kinda want MI to secede during the Bush years. I know that this was neither realistic nor desirable, but the thought did cross my mind.
PS: We are doing a unit on the Civil War in my class and, for some odd reason, the kiddos were delighted that there is another kind of “secede” (as opposed to “succeed”)
