1:30 p.m. The staff at Copernicus European Deli reported they’ve sold about 6,000 paczkis so far today, brought in from Hamtramck. They sold out of plum, raspberry and rose flavors. Still have some custard and strawberry left.

    Just stopped in at Dimo’s, they are all sold out (sold out of 400 doz at 10 am).

    Had 1/2 a custard and 1/2 a strawberry. No point in holding back on Mardi Gras–think I will have the other half of each now.

    Just tried the rose hips jam I got there, since the rose paczki intrigued me but they were out. Pretty tasty.

    Copernicus sold out yesterday so they ordered another batch for today (Wednesday). As of about 3:00, they still had raspberry, plum, rose, and custard made fresh this morning. Lots of them are spoken for, but still plenty available for walk-ins.
