Yzerman is a class act. I remember the days of the Dead Wings, followed by improvement, but with disappointing early playoff exits, followed by Bowman, followed by Stanley's Cup. Yzerman always led by example, and I can't begin to imagine the pain he went through as he overcame injuries. One of my fondest memories of him is the year of the lockout when some of the locked out players from the wings played the USA Development under-18 team at Yost. Yzerman had recuperated from the knee surgery, and it was his first time on the ice in front of a crowd. The other plus was that Federov also played, and he too, got plenty of cheers.
