If a building costs $X per square foot to build and units can be sold for $Y in this market, you have a pretty definite minimum number of units you have to build if you want to break even, let alone make money. Arbitrarily reducing the number of units below a certain threshold simply means the project could never get financing. Developers and lenders are pretty good at doing this basic math.

It isn’t much taller than the rest of the house and goes to the back of the property. From the street, the house doesn’ appear to be changed until you notice the addition in the back which will match the rest of the house. Now why can’t De Parry add to the back of the current homes and match the siding/color and height even if it means a possible decrease in number of units?

Nice coverage of the planning meeting. However, I would like to clarify one of my comments that you mentioned above..

When I was inquiring whether tearing down one of the houses would make it easier it was in response to my inquiry about whether moving all four houses from their original foundations was ideal or necessary for the project. They said they needed to shift the houses to make room for the entrance to the parking garage. I then asked if tearing down one of the houses (in lieu of moving all four from their foundations) would help.

Just wanted to clarify that.
