How is the hole for the underground parking garage getting dug? Answer: a guy with a shovel [photo]. Last week’s DDA meeting report indicated “real digging” would commence this week. And yes, there’s heavy equipment, too.

    A web cam should be installed on the Library roof so that the progress can be seen daily.

    Two webcams to track progress on construction of the underground parking structure were installed. That’s being handled by Christman, which is the construction manager for the project. A browser plug-in called Silverlight is required for viewing … however, after installing the plug-in all I get is a swirling blue circle of dots centered around “100%”. I’ve made inquiries via the DDA.

    I guess I will never watch the cams, since I refuse to install Silverlight on any of my machines.
