I had to stand in on the other side of the yellow line to get a picture of the sign. Southbound drivers won’t see it until they are in or through the intersection.

You’re implying drivers won’t see it before the intersection. Why not? It’s pretty big.

Also, the sign clock says that after the first amazing string of sign-kills, the sign on the island has been up for 14 weeks!

If we weren’t cutting police positions, maybe the city could build a mini-station on the island and have it staffed 24/7 to protect all the Old West Side street crossers.
