    Yes, and it’s a good thing to have that little day-glo crossing guard (and another one at the entrance to the Y parking lot, too), because in mid-afternoon, the traffic there is constant, with some cars driving through much too fast for conditions in that area. Parents and children are everywhere, getting into and out of vehicles, crossing the street from between parked cars, etc. We were glad to see at least a couple of “dummy” crossing guards watching over West Washington and Third.

    That block is a madhouse at pickup time, just like the 200 block of E. William used to be in the days of the old Y.

    With people swarming both the Kiwanis and the Y, Saturday mornings on Washington between First and Third is an absolute zoo.
