Female driver ignored “right turn only” sign and tried to cross four lanes of Stadium. The guy coming thru, westbound on curb lane of Stadium who struck her at about 30 mph had NO time to brake. His vision (and SUV driver’s) was blocked by the line of westbound left turners going into the school to drop students. SUV knocked onto lawn of house on Edgewood. Amazingly no serious injuries. Sedan careened down Edgewood. Airbags and seat belts saved life in this one.

Took about 15 minutes for police and ambulance to respond. Disappointing response.
Emergency responders got lost. Didn’t know where main entrance to Pioneer High on Stadium was? Only two bystanders stop to assist out of dozens who were there dropping students off. Also disappointing. Everyone is too busy? Sad commentary.

This is the second accident I’ve seen there in recent months. This
intersection needs a control light during school rush hour. Other witness says woman driving SUV was being honked at by impatient drivers behind her. Amazing there were no injuries. No pedestrians in the area at that second. Drivers routinely ignore that “right turn only” sign. A chronically hazardous situation.

A strong second to the need for a control light at this spot. For traffic exiting Pioneer, the sign indicating no left turn is poorly placed and not easily noticed, particularly for the cars at the head of the line. The no turn signs are often blocked by SUVs and other high-profile vehicles. Impatient drivers pressed for time often make hazardous turns at all directions. This is especially hazardous for young and inexperienced drivers, as well as kids trying to cross at this busy spot.
