5:57 p.m. Phalanx of media trucks from channels 4, 2, 7 – Frontline News, Working for You, On Your Side, respectively. And more. Their presence is likely accounted for by media reports that swirled through the afternoon that UM football coach Rich Rodriguez had been fired, and then not, and then well, not yet, but maybe later, or not. Should give AnnArbor.com and the Detroit News some credit for never quite following the lead of Fox News Detroit, which announced that he had been fired. Instead, they said he was meeting with Brandon and the rumors were that he would be fired. They have a little less egg on their face in light of the UM statement that he had not been fired.

“Everything that is being reported is media speculation at this point,” Dave Ablauf, U-M associate athletic director said in a statement. “The definitive voice on this matter is Dave Brandon and he has not and will not speak publicly until a final decision has been made. I will let you know when Dave is prepared to comment.”

I do not think it is a good newspaper. It is a terrible excuse for a newspaper. I’m just giving them credit this time for not jumping on the Rich Rodriguez has been fired bandwagon.

I think that is a result of being their usual being three days late on important local stories and not the result of journalistic restraint but your point is well taken.

When I read Frontline News, I thought you meant Frontline, which really got me wondering.
