I used to play by “the New Bed” that lead to the power house at Broadway by Moore Street. The park there is wonderful, but with the high price of fuel, it seems like at least the power house could produce more power than it takes to operate those electric gates on the Argo Dam, and save money with a clean energy source. I’m sure technology has evolved since then, and it would be more efficient now than 40 years ago, when they probably had 40 year-old equipment anyway.
