To clarify, regents didn’t vote to approve Snyder’s commencement address. Their only vote was to approve granting him (and several others) an honorary degree, to be awarded at spring commencement. However, during the meeting they did give verbal support to that decision, which was made by UM president Mary Sue Coleman.

Rick Snyder is one of the brightest alumni of U-M and we should be proud to have him as our governor.
