My comment was simply about the view. When I look out of my mom’s apartment in Sloan Square, the parking building itself is hugely ugly – much more so that 411 or Sloan Square. For all its ugliness, however, the Liberty Square structure is open to the public – anyone can take the elevator to the 4th floor & take in the view. If you have not done this, I recommend trying it out.

It is true that as we implement Carsten Hohnke’s Shared High-Level Vision of an 18 (or was it 26?) story Ann Arbor, such views shall disappear from almost all buildings, public or private.

Pardon my unending ignorance, but what is My City?

Now I have to figure out how to link to this exchange as an example of My City.

My interpretation of the post is that the buildings are lowering the quality of an otherwise pristine view. Maybe I’m wrong in my reading. If I am correct, I would like to say that it seems silly to criticize large apartment buildings for blocking a view from on top of a large parking structure.
