Why does Eric Cantor merit Secret Service protection? By statute that’s for Presidents and Vice-Presidents (current, former and -elect) and their families, some candidates for those offices, other heads of state, and “other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President” (and a couple other cases, not applicable here).

Doesn’t he know that U of M is a publicly funded university? Maybe he found that out and is here to pick up his daughter.

He might have security guards who are not Secret Service agents.

From Slate: “We will find the money if there is a need for additional money,” Cantor told Fox News on Monday. “But those monies are not unlimited, and we have said we have to offset that which has already been funded.”

His reaction to FEMA/H.Irene might explain the heightened security.
