If they were, we wouldn’t have the freeway system. So why should they be allowed to opt out of a regional bus system? Unfortunately I think this is a big problem that can’t be solved at a county-wide level. My biggest fear is that we’ll end up with an expensive system that doesn’t work, and a lot of people will be convinced that public transit can’t work, when it really hasn’t been given a chance.
