The county too–I saw a couple of those crews out plying Frogger with traffic on a trip to Manchester today.

I used the website to point out the potholes on Mulholland at the top of the street (since I live on Mulholland) a couple of months ago.

Why the city chose to address it 2 months later at midnight is wholly unclear. :-)

And, I’m not a city planner, publisher of a newspaper, or anything else of any importance. But, I have found that the city is very responsive to service requests for folks who bother to do it.

This should generate some hits.

As abc points out, it connects Liberty and Washington – it’s just one block long. A couple of years ago it was called out for special recognition by the city’s historic district commission. It’s a part of the Old West Side. As for the residents who live there having sufficient influence to alter the priorities of the mid-February pothole repair crew – I live on Mulholland. And one of the city’s systems planners lives on Mulholland. And the president of the Old West Side lives on Mulholland. My guess, though, is that priority is driven by service requests. Call 99-HOLES to report potholes. Here’s an example of work assignment sheets from last year, same month. [.pdf of street maintenance assignments Feb. 2011]

And if I had any influence to wield, I would not use it to change geographic priorities, but rather to encourage city workers to take a seasonally appropriate artistic approach to filling potholes … exemplified in this photo-illustration: [photo illustration]

Mulholland is just a little connector road; I hope it does not have priority over roads more traveled. Or could it be that the residents have some influence above and beyond the common man.

Crazy. Sometimes I think they are sending a message with the holes that are not patched.
