I imagine the city is having to find something to do with all the crews that normally would be out plowing. The county too–I saw a couple of those crews out plying Frogger with traffic on a trip to Manchester today.

I suspect the original service request originated from me. I used the website to point out the potholes on Mulholland at the top of the street (since I live on Mulholland) a couple of months ago.

Why the city chose to address it 2 months later at midnight is wholly unclear. :-)

And, I’m not a city planner, publisher of a newspaper, or anything else of any importance. But, I have found that the city is very responsive to service requests for folks who bother to do it.

OMG city staff giving preferential treatment to the road in front of the publisher and editor of a major news conglomerate. This should generate some hits.

Re: [2] The crew was headed north down the hill on Muholland. As abc points out, it connects Liberty and Washington – it's just one block long. A couple of years ago it was called out for special recognition by the city's historic district commission. It's a part of the Old West Side. As for the residents who live there having sufficient influence to alter the priorities of the mid-February pothole repair crew – I live on Mulholland. And one of the city's systems planners lives on Mulholland. And the president of the Old West Side lives on Mulholland. My guess, though, is that priority is driven by service requests. Call 99-HOLES to report potholes. Here's an example of work assignment sheets from last year, same month. Was the road crew on Mulholland, or Liberty, or Washington? Mulholland is just a little connector road; I hope it does not have priority over roads more traveled. Or could it be that the residents have some influence above and beyond the common man.

Oh that explains why they miss so many holes. Crazy. Sometimes I think they are sending a message with the holes that are not patched.
