The 4:23 am northbound train was going by when I heard some very loud yelling. I went to the window and walking atop one of the railroad cars was a young man wearing a bright yellow t-shirt. I saw him scramble down between two of the cars while the train was moving at its usual speed. I did not see where he landed on the ground, but soon afterwards I heard him talking extremely loudly on a cell phone and gesticulating wildly. He was right under my window so I could see and hear him pretty clearly. His shirt had some writing on the front and a big #1 on the back. In a few minutes, another young man raced up to him, and they hugged one another and jumped around joyfully. Then, I noticed a taxi with its motor running on William Street at the corner of First Street, and the two men jumped into that vehicle, and it drove away.

I don’t know what it was all about – a dare? A bet? At any rate, it was shocking for me to see this incident, and I was just glad that this youthful escapade had as happy an ending as it did.
