LDF, I think I must have just missed crossing paths with you. Had a conversation on this stretch of sidewalk just now about the fact that this is part of the Main Street Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) – a self-assessment district that contracts for snow removal on the sidewalks, among other services. In the couple of years since the BIZ was created, I’ve seen pretty good and timely performance by the contractor for BIZ for snow removal. Today, though, I don’t think they hit the mark.

Perhaps contributing to the slush jam: there is poor drainage on a couple of sections of sidewalk in front of BBQ. Nothing that a few well-placed grooves couldn’t solve, IMHO…

I’ve noted an improvement in snow removal since the shift in responsibility. This was a notable exception. It was both MBBQ and Felix’s. I was guessing other merchants just went ahead and did the right thing and cleared their part without waiting. With everyone else being responsible, this just really stood out. It was in the early afternoon when I passed by twice. Poorly done. And yes, LIBERAL NIMBY a small groove or trench would fix the water pooling that is so frequent. If someone is reading this who can make it happen…
