(Did learn a new word though…anomie :))

I think it was a great outing because I actually did learn something things (cue South Park’s Stan saying, “I learned something today….”) and got to meet some cool people. I like the City Council members that I know personally and wish more citizens would get involved in some way, even if it’s just watching the meetings.

Don’t worry. There’s even talk of getting folks together to attend a meeting IRL… eventually.

You have to sit through the whole thing for the benefit of the folks at home.

What I wouldn’t give to be able to join you for the next one. There’ll be a next one, yes?

I’m all for fun but consider how much of their lives each member of Council has given in order to produce this “show”. There certainly is a dull predictability to certain aspects (the inevitable Tom Partridge harangue, etc.) of the proceedings, but I salute these citizens, our councilmembers, who give of themselves, for the main part without personal gain. And don’t forget that these items mean a lot to citizens who appear to plead for outcomes that they believe will affect their lives.

I could suggest this “Mystery Science Fiction Theater” approach for Congress, but everyone would either be drunk under the tables or dead of boredom after the first session.
