E. Stadium & Washtenaw

Stopped. Watched. icon

Water is flooding one lane of traffic along East Stadium, making exit from Trader Joe’s difficult. Looks like a water main break, but no one on site as of 3 p.m. [photo, looking west on East Stadium]

I made a query to the city and got this email response from Robert Kellar: “There is a break just west of Washtenaw split and the east bound lane is closed. Unlikely to be fixed till after rush hour.”

The photo I couldn’t get was water bubbling up from the curb itself – breaks in the curb in at least four or five places. It was covering the road as I pulled in, and blocking the lane as I pulled out 15 minutes later. Even with a sewer grate right there. People were turning right and going right at the light to turn around instead of making the left. Interesting, and all part of city life and infrastructure! Thanks for the update, Mary.
