Near miss – a gravel truck making a right turn into the 413 E. Huron construction site almost clips a bicyclist riding next to the truck in the righthand lane. Quick acceleration on the part of the cyclist averts crash.

    Bicyclists have to watch out when they are in that position on a large truck. That is their blind spot! They cannot see anything low on the right side.

    Often you see those trucks with signs in the back indicating that they cannot see anyone on the right side.

    So, remember, big trucks, right side is the blind side.
