Saw a flock of robins in West Park yesterday – not sure what drew them, since I didn’t see any berries (as at the other locations where I’ve seen robins recently)

We had a similar flock of robins and blackbirds at our place near Meijers at Carpenter and Ellsworth. Several robins came right up to the house. They seemed to be interested in pools of water from roof dripping. The blackbirds stayed farther away, I thought they were starlings but they might have been grackles. Perhaps there were fifty birds in the flock, more blackbirds than robins.

Maybe the robins in West Park were eating the little crabapples or hawthorns on the trees near the playground
