And with Glendale: I sympathize with the residents who would like to continue using someone’s private property as their personal parkland. But Virginia Park is about 4 blocks away and Vet’s is maybe half a mile. It’s hardly underserved. As some council members pointed out, we can’t just buy up every piece of property to keep it from being developed. If we truly want to avoid sprawl, we need some infill development as well.
