County Board Honors Fleece, Meade

Washtenaw County commissioners passed resolutions of appreciation at their Dec. 4, 2013 meeting to honor two men who have served the county for decades: Dick Fleece and Nelson Meade.

Fleece has worked for the county for 38 years in the field of public and environmental health, and is retiring at the end of 2013. He was appointed the county’s environmental health director in 1994, and has served as the health officer since 2009. At the county board’s Nov. 6, 2013 meeting, commissioners appointed Ellen Rabinowitz as interim health officer.
