AAATA Keeps Pear Sperling for Legal Work

The law firm Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels P.C. will continue to represent the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, after AAATA board action taken on Sept. 26, 2013.

The contract runs five years starting on Oct. 1, 2013, and is based on an hourly rate. The value of the contract is expected to exceed a total of $100,000. That’s the amount triggering a requirement of board approval.

According to the staff memo on the resolution, 48 vendors downloaded the RFP (request for proposals) issued by the AAATA and 10 firms responded to it. Ann Arbor OKs Legal Services Contract

At its Feb. 21, 2012 meeting, the Ann Arbor city council authorized a $50,000 contract for legal services with Stevenson Keppelman Associates. The contract will cover work related to pension and retiree health care issues. It will be paid out of the city’s risk fund.
