The reason they are closing is because the Stahls (married couple and owners)did not know how to run this business. As a former employee, I saw many poor business choices from a lack of experience and an air of arrogance on their parts. Instead of being a good and low priced store, they went UPSCALE and did not change when the market changed. The physical appearence was always lacking in the cleanliness department and that was a factor in many customers voicing complaints plus the high prices. I am not sorry to see them go. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Mr and Mrs. Stahl!

The reason they are suffering is because of Plum Market down the road. The people who used to shop locally at Fresh Seasons are now shopping there. Sad. I hope they reinvent themselves into something like the Produce Station across town. A really specialty place with local cheeses,meat and produce!

Definitely a townie shibboleth. Anyone who’s been around awhile still says “Coleman’s.”

I still call it Coleman’s! Fresh Seasons is too generic.

Does anyone have this issue: I can’t remember the name of the place! Whenever I go I have to say “I’m going to Coleman’s”. I never remember if its Fresh Seasons, Fresh Market, Fresh Produce, Produce Station or whatever. I just call it Coleman’s. Maybe with the new move, they will reinvent themselves and the Coleman’s label will drop. I hope so. I really like the place.

Sounds to me like they don’t have a new place yet. I hope they find something that works, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they closed outright. They’ve been slow in the evenings, jacking up some prices, and doing more specials. Signs of a store in distress, imho.
