[3] – here’s a link to the senior center’s website, which is hosted on the city’s site. The nonprofit mentioned in the article – Ann Arbor Seniors Inc. – does not have a website.

I’d like to see a section with links going to further information, not just additional A2C articles. Does the Senior Center have a web page? Are there pictures on Flickr?

I feel somewhat uninformed about what the Senior Center is and what it’s like. I suppose it would be appropriate for me to just go over there (wherever it is), but I’d like to know more before I do (I’m shy). On the inside, is it a cement block space with low ceilings, fly-specked lighting and no windows? What goes on when these scheduled activities aren’t happening? Are there books, conversation areas? Is there convenient parking? Is it on a bus route?

It seems like quite a small group uses it and I’m not excited about funding these little special interests (including golf courses!). I’d like to be better informed and as I said above I’d suggest a Wikipedia-style section with important links to additional information.

But thanks for this article. I’m really beginning to like the concept of online news channels – seems like I’m better informed than with just a print version.

Project grow could set up some 1 acre plots on the land, and let them maintain the access and areas around the plots. The rest goes wild and blends in with the woodlands that are already on the property. The City has to mow between the sidewalk and street anyway, so it just adds one more pass to the cutting.

It seems to me that in many cases these represent a failure of leadership on the part of our elected officials. I am pleased, however, by the efforts of the folks interested in both the Senior Center and Mack Pool at finding ways to keep these resources viable.
