External candidates take a little but more fact-finding and logistical work, so they’re often handled differently. I don’t like the sound of that “held in abeyance,” though. Regardless of whether Guenzel did a good or a bad job, the County still has been steered into a really bad place under his leadership, and McDaniel, regardless of her merits, has been part of that–I would hope that that would at least make the Board question whether Guenzel 2.0 is *really* what they want.

The good old boy network will remain in control of County politics for the time being. It would seem if this “world class” organization was truly concerned with recruiting the best available candidate that a national search for the next County leader would be in the citizens best interest.

They service a downtown Ypsilanti and some of downtown Ann Arbor plus several other neighborhood areas. I believe they have well over 4000 “customers.” Further, there is no inherent conflict between this technology and that which might someday ve provided by 20/20.
Why isn’t the county also talking with Wireless Ypsi instead of waiting forever for whatever and whenever 20/20 might be able to produce?
