I always wondered how that was going to be accommodated.

City Council member Margie Teal was able to get the County to pull funds out of their general fund to make Ann Arbor hole for that year.

Was the money lost “federal emergency housing funds for the county, which have been cut by nearly 30%.” due to Ann Arbor joining the Urban County?

Habitat for Humanitarian requested to waive the $60000 cap and asked for approval for $11124 to convert the garage into another two rooms and bath in a property in Ypsilanti. This is not appropriate, and it should not have been approved. Please also think about many people without home and turned away by the shelter as shelter reaches its limit. They need to sleep on the streets. Habitat for Humanitarian should abide by the rule of $60000 cap. If there is surplus fund from “Neighborhood Stabilization Program”, the fund may be reallocated to PORT to help those people really hitting the bottom.
