Vivienne, really toads. Males were calling from the water in West Park back in April. [link]

There was a mind-boggling number of little black tadpoles in the large pond a couple of weeks ago, now they have metamorphosed. Toads transform at a smaller size than do frogs of comparable adult size, so now there are myriads of tiny tiny toads, no bigger than a fingernail.
