It was Hall who received the nod from the board: [link]

The original request was verbal – I asked Sharie Sell of the city’s HR staff at the Oct. 12 meeting. She emailed me the following day stating that I needed to file a FOIA. The FOIA was a formal written request sent on Oct. 13.

Was this a written request?

He was a breath of fresh air breathe into a Commission that was in an uproar. He was also a strong resident advocate. It’s a good thing that he doesn’t understand the so-called “system.”

This board should be ashamed of itself for leaning toward a candidate with absolutely no public housing experience. Last I heard the housing commission was struggling. Congratulations to the board for seeking to maintain the status quo.

Hall has been an excellent public servant and was a strong continuity through many changes in community development over the last few years. She really understands “the system” and I’m only sorry to think that she might no longer be with the community development organization she has served so ably. In my opinion, she has never been political in exercising her duties.

While her current experience with the community is a plus, it could also be a liability. She knows the political landscape in the community and may be somewhat reluctant to make certain decisions that may upset these political connections. The Housing Commission is desperately in need of leadership not a caretaker and Hall may resort to this type of leadership in hopes of not upsetting the political landscape.

The Chronicle requested resumés and other application materials for the candidates, but was informed that the information would be released only in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.”

Welcome back Leigh Greden.
