Racing boats rowed by 8 crewmen are sometimes called “8′s”. Along with smaller boats, they often train and race in Argo Pond. Retaining the aility of crew teams to row in Argo was among the reasons that Argo Dam was repaired, not removed.

“Ferrel” is a two-bit word for “Wild”, often used in the context of something formerly domesticated (like a cat, or a garden) reverting to a wild state, often through neglect.
