The painted lettering gives Morgan & York an economically feasible alternative to the neon sign. It’s amusing that people have “ownership” of a sign that was, for many years, in disrepair. Now the sign has been cleaned up, the dead neon removed, and M & Y has been provided with a recognizable sign easily visible to traffic on Packard.
