Quite to the contrary, many landscape and architecture fans here in Ypsi are in love with this “long wall” you mention. The use of such a descriptor demonstrates both your ignorance of design, as well as your sense of what the Ypsilanti community wants or needs.

I’d say: place complete trust in the architects and their team. They know the alchemical relationship of structure to space far better than you or I do.
