To me, that means that Council would commit to repealing the troubled percent for art ordinance whether or not the public art millage passes.

There’s room for everyone and we should not demonize each other over what has become an issue far too politicized.

That included me, of course.

I am bothered that the public might essentially be asked to vote for a millage or otherwise implicitly support the continuation of the Percent for Art program. There is an overtone of strong-arming about that. I haven’t examined the resolution or proposed language, but I hope that is not the outcome.

I would be happy to support a “clean” vote for the millage.
