Driver picks at edges of windshield, apparently dropping pieces of glass to the ground, tosses blanket into car, and drives away before this correspondent can figure out what to say to him.

It takes ten minutes to pick up the pieces of broken glass from the driveway. Would like the driver to understand that it could have been a hazard to dogs, children, and bicycle tires, but don’t know how to find him. Wondering if authorities should be involved.
