No “insider status” necessary. There’s some Stopped.Watched. correspondents I know only through their Stopped.Watched items.
All you need to do is express a willingness to do so. In this case, a comment left in another Stopped.Watched item — that was itself a Stopped.Watched. item — served the purpose.
