Cafe du Jour closed for business. Sign on door cites tough economic times [photo] [Editor's note: That's been there at least three weeks, I think, but still worth noting for the archives.]

So sad. I loved this place – even when it changed hands – a quick stop for a good cup of soup. Thought things were going south though when I last stopped in and the owner said many of his employees didn’t show that morning and he didn’t have any food prepared…

I used to work there when Suzanne Haas ran it and she was the best owner of the former Soup Du Jour. (name was changed to Cafe Du Jour which was a stupid name change!) It went downhill when the next owner Tiffany took over and she raised the prices through the roof. Apparently this newest owner did not learn from the mistakes that Tiffany made and did not lower the prices. Hence, no customers!
