    Thank goodness! That intersection really is terrible for pedestrians.

    About fifteen or so years ago, I appealed to the City to put a pedestrian-activated crosswalk right there at Chapin and West Huron to allow for safer crossing for the inhabitants of Lurie Terrace and others. I was told that this was IMPOSSIBLE since the street is a State of Michigan “trunk line” (no, I did not understand this reasoning, but that’s what I was told). Thanks very much, Councilman Mike Anglin, for working on and achieving this goal. This is a real service that will be helpful to many people.
