Report from Bill Merrill at 6:26 p.m. is that traffic is still backed up at Glen & Huron.

Traffic still nearly bumper to bumper on Washington and Liberty, but better. I walked up Huron telling people what was up, then tried to warn drivers on First turning right onto Huron. Mostly people were glad to know but on Huron I encountered one enraged driver who swore she would never return to Ann Arbor ever again. “It was an accident” I told her. She tried to drive off in a huff, but of course could only move a couple feet.
At 6:45 utility workers were working on the wires affected by the top of the pole breaking off.
Worst traffic I have ever seen in Ann Arbor not associated with football. And I’m a native.

The accident was actually just West of Third, one house from the corner, on the South side of the street. Not at First and Huron.
