It’s possible they were responding to a 10:13 a.m. shots-fired-during-armed-robbery call at Bank of America at Eisenhower and Packard. Avoid area, per UM Safety services bulletin: [link]

According to a recorded message I received by phone, the robbers left on foot and are considered armed and dangerous.

When I arrived at the downtown post office dock today to make my daily bicycle-trailered delivery of packages for Books by Chance, I was surprised by the parking lot filled with mail trucks — it’s usually mostly empty this time of day. Explanation: Carriers have been pulled off their routes to protect them from at least one bank robbery suspect still at large considered armed and dangerous. Be advised that your mail might be delayed or skipped today.
