Recent University of Michigan graduate “David Julius Caesar Salad” writing poetry on his portable green Olivetti typewriter – you pick the topic and price. I bought a $10 poem on city council. The transaction includes a dramatic reading. [photo]

    Here’s the poem:

    Elected officials
    Neglected
    Ousted and ostracized
    Still alive
    But barely breathing
    Is electric
    High voltage voyages
    Through corporate capitalistic corruption
    Eruption
    Volcanic variations of the truth
    A loose tooth dangling
    Pull it out quick!
If we want to keep the peace
We must believe the war will cease
    Decreasing destructive ways
    Build a better world
    We pave

    He does good!

Its my first week in Ann Arbor and I was strolling down Main St. yesterday when I spotted the sign, ‘Pick a topic and sign, get a poem’. I used to write poetry a couple of years back before writer’s block took over (a shame, I know!). But even if I was not into peotry, the sign would have got my attention anyway. So I went upto this college kid and asked him to write about me and my third day in Ann Arbor. He did a fabulous job! :-)

I hate to be that guy, but… this is a terrible poem.
