Stopped. Watched. icon

Headed westbound on Liberty as I was headed eastbound in the bike lane: Google Street View car. Two days, two encounters with the Street View Car.

They better hurry before the campaign signs go up. Saw some “Anglin’s” on Wagner Road the other day, must be more to come.

What does Google do about those? Blur them?

    Re: blurring policies

Here’s a [link] to the blurring policy. It does not appear to include campaign signs. Faces and license plates, however, are blurred. Users can also request additional blurring. Based on the information under the link, it’ll be a few months before Ann Arbor’s data is updated.

I wonder how much of town they’re covering? Filling in the gaps from a few years ago, or starting over?

I remember seeing the car when it was in town a few years ago and the big story when AA Street View was put on Google Map. Due to different clues from the view of my house I was able to determine what day it was, tracked my usual walking route downtown and sure enough, there on Washington, I found me. Sad to think I won’t be documented in Google history any longer if they replace all of Street View.

You could just spend lots of time on the street to make sure you get in this pass, Rob. Luckily, the weather’s nice. I feel bad for the communities that were immortalized in late November.
