    Good Democrats and Good Republicans do not make good Americans. It is the mindsets of “the political party comes first” and “loyalty to the party is all that matters” that is tearing apart our country.

    Actually, I think that the problem is not the political parties but smaller subgroups based on such things as culture, age, ethnic and religious affiliation, etc. We are less willing to see the broader community as our responsibility, as discussed in this column from the New York Times [link]. I mourn the loss of communitarianism.
