I had just come from the river, and heard and then saw some Sandhill Cranes flying over Gallup park. It was a shock to arrive home and then hear them from my front door. I don’t recall every hearing Sandhill Cranes in The Old West Side, or anywhere near downtown Ann Arbor!
There is a nesting pair in a small pond on the northwest corner of Nixon and Warren, not far from where I live. They are kind of shy, but interesting to watch.
