A2: Night Photography

Photographer Mark Bialek, whose work can often be found in the pages of The Ann Arbor Observer, has released a new series of photographs of Ann Arbor at night. The genesis of the project can be dated back to at least two years ago, when Bialek discusses it in an interview.   [Source for Ann Arbor Nights]

Nice photography, and I am so happy to see none of that HDR stuff in the images.

Anybody have any suggestions for areas to photograph downtown?

Alleys. Parking garage stairwells. Urban gardens. Basements of 19th century buildings.

Hmmm. No people in any of these suggestions. Wonder what that means?

I’ve seen some really great photos lately of people framed by, interacting with, or happening by some of our sculptures and art installations. I like your unique perspectives and lighting – art capturing art and how it is used/perceived is pretty rich.
Seeing familiar places made different by the night and your angles is especially appreciated. Being able to recognize them helps!
