This cooper’s hawk has been in the area for a few years now. He is highly habituated to humans and one can get surprisingly close- good for photos. We should name him/her.
Perhaps it’s a mascot of the Ann Arbor Newshawks!
Thanx for the Newshawks link. That’s too funny, and true, the laugh helped warm up the house, ow. They forgot to point out that overgrown traffic islands are part of a city plan to prevent vehicles smaller than SUV’s from turning onto thoroughfares, keeping those pesky compact cars out of traffic.
