That’s been my experience with all of the new centralized parking machines, including the ones replacing street meters. There is often a line. One more disincentive to parking downtown…
And even more of a hardship if a person happens to have a physical challenge like cold-induced asthma, difficulty standing for long periods, or some other sort of mobility impairment? This is definitely NOT a kind and forgiving parking payment situation.
My experience is that these machines are ridiculously slow, even if you’re completely ready, know your number, know the steps you need to do . . .
Please share your personal experiences and observations with the DDA. My understanding is that the kiosk system was only partially implemented so that it could be evaluated.
