This reminds me how one foggy morning in September, 2008, I saw something I’d never seen before: a doe and her fawn strolling through yards from Newport to Pomona, then down Red Oak towards Vesper. Somehow a result of the recent neighborhoods north of M-14 between Main and Maple? Or just a burgeoning deer population?
We see those North Campus deer all the time–there’s either a sizable herd or they move over a large area. Ann Arbor has more wild critters than you might suppose. Where I live, just west of town, we hear coyotes all the time, and a couple years ago we had several sightings of a wild boar! [link]
