    That’s quite a colony of bats! Very cool. Bet they freak people out, though.

    Are these really bats? There are no close-ups in the video, but based on behavior, I would say these are chimney swifts (birds).

    Definitely bats Dan. They only come out to feed at sunset. I’m pretty familiar with swallows (used to live in a marina and also on a farm). These are bats, unless Chimney Swifts squeak and fly erratically and only come out at night.

    Check em out at sunset (8:15-8:35 or so behind Community). If you bring some binoculors and can clearly see they are swifts, I stand corrected ;-)

    They are starting to circle around now…a bit early but it’s darker than usual right now.

    Crushed. I think they are indeed Chimney Swifts. The drama of bats was just so compelling.
