This [train from the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society] was spotted last year around this same time but there was no photo as I recall. The caboose said “Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society” and the coal car (with all the extra rivets) said “Nickel Plate Road.” [photo]

The Stream Railroad Institute’s train, the Pere Marquette 1225 is currently undergoing it’s 15 year inspection. This will probably take them 2 years and may cost them up to $500,000. You can follow the progress of the 1225 at [link].
I heard the toots around noon on Monday. I thought a steam locomotive was involved. What fun.
